Girls will be boys

Everyone is at it, well a lot of people are. Yves Saint Laurent has been leaning this way since the design house began. Coco Chanel first did this with her lovers clothes as she had nothing else to wear. It's girls wanting to dress as men. By using the tailoring and then tweaking its appearance for a feminine touch, rich and original results can be achieved. I suppose it is a little selfish of us girls, as it means we can effectively double our wardrobe by hijacking our boyfriends or husbands - just don't attack it with the scissor or harmony may be destroyed indefinitely.

In London, Paul Smith set the example and now across the channel, Dries Van Noten does the same but a tiny bit more - how would you say - Frenchier. Not chicer because I think Smith was chic but this was very Parisian, some ways referencing YSL, and he was probed on this too: Did he see the YSL exhibit? “Like every other designer, I went there,” he said, adding that his collection was already complete, “but [the Saint Laurent mood] is out there.” (source WWD)

I thought the collection beautiful, the colour, cuts and overall quality really began to wet the appetite for the remaining shows in Paris.
