Back to the 80's

Tucked away in deepest darkest Dalston, Lyle and Scott were showcasing their vintage collection and at the same time providing entertainment in the form of Trophy Wife. Going back in time with the clothes, the canapes -mini fish and chips or veggie burgers - and sipping on beer. The venue was a lovely small warren of rooms making the gig cosy and intimate. This is going to be loud my friend said as we positioned ourselves about a foot away from the speakers.

Lyle and Scott is a video edit of the evening.

After the band finished their set I went for a snoop around the collection in the next room. There are two main parts to Lyle and Scott, this is the vintage range, which is a delve into the archive and reworking the pieces to have a more contemporary feel.

Boys, beer and bands - a perfectly complimented trio.

Lyle and Scott have long been a supporter of new talent. Trophy Wife are part of the Curated by.... project. A series of gigs to launch or I should say further support fresh talent. (Trophy Wife have already been on the road with Bombay Bicycle Club and Foals)

The first is on December 8th at Xoyo. Three bands in one evening. Come down, it should be a good evening if the last was anything to go by.
