NYFW: Port 1961

Wools and tweeds were great in this sleek and simple show. Although I am not sure about the leather dresses. Selection from the Ports 1961 show a/w 2010

Colour blocking and draping were highlights for me. Easy use of layering light fabrics to blend between seasons - clever move from the BCBG.

The Wall Street Journal's Runway blog had this to say,

"The show then started in earnest with a march of muted looks perfectly suited for the blizzard that hit New York yesterday. Models wearing ginger-colored rain boots walked down the runway in luxurious fabrics and leather hats resembling aviator caps. Footwear was a highlight of the collection, ranging from rain boots and menswear oxfords to ballet flats and sky-high chunky heels. Notable looks included copper separates that moved like liquid and the rare shots of blurred flower prints on billowy dresses."
