I had the enormous pleasure of being invited to meet Justine Picardie, the author, to sit and discuss her new book on this great woman. I walked into our venue expecting the usual throng of people chatting away, but as I approached I could not hear the many voices, but just one. Justine’s. I, like many, have seen many features on Chanel recently, and you may think what more can you learn. A great deal more as it turns out.
Continue Reading...Hmmm well I shan’t say I won’t because I can’t. End of discussion. From the first shows this season my imagination has been captivated. John Galliano continues to inspire me. The breath-taking array of colour danced before my eyes as I viewed the collection over and over again. Each time I saw different thing and my eyes were spellbound by the beautiful creations in front of me.
Continue Reading...Ruffles galore in the house of Valentino. As a signature style this can be over worked but they are determined to show that the line can produce a younger feel and still hang on to that heritage. Out came the dresses, worked in lace and leather with studded shoes, a signal if ever there was, that this brand is trying to encourage the younger market. There was the full-length gown of lace which for me was far too gothic compared to the other delicate tiered beaded lilac pieces that came round it. The show closed with the traditional red gown, ruffled (of course) and with the added layer of nude.
